Trauma Therapy in Dallas, GA

Trauma can leave lasting imprints—emotionally, mentally, and even physically. Trauma isn’t defined by the event itself, but by how it impacts the individual.

Common trauma responses in children, teens, and adults may include:

  • Anxiety or hypervigilance

  • Trouble sleeping or concentrating

  • Emotional numbness or intense mood swings

  • Avoidance of people, places, or memories

  • Challenges in relationships or trust

These symptoms are not signs of weakness—they are survival responses. Trauma affects the brain and body, often making people feel stuck in fight, flight, or freeze mode. But with the right support, healing is possible.

MY APPROACH TO TRAUMA THERAPY

I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that honors each person’s pace and story. Therapy is not about “fixing” but about safely exploring what has happened, learning to regulate emotions, and reclaiming a sense of empowerment and connection.

I draw from:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to address trauma in children and adolescents

  • DBT-informed skills to support emotion regulation and distress tolerance

  • Play-based and expressive techniques to help children process nonverbally

  • Attachment-based and relational approaches to repair trust and build safety

  • Psychoeducation to help clients understand their reactions and reframe shame

Whether you or your child are navigating the aftermath of trauma, therapy can be a place to feel seen, validated, and supported. You don’t have to go through it alone.
